Complacht D, An Chéad Chathlán, Briogáid Átha Cliath
Rugadh Seán Derrington i 1871 i gCo Ard Macha. I 1916 bhí sé ina chónaí ag 106 Sráid an Rí Thuaidh, Baile Átha Cliath. Ba bhall é de Chomplacht D, An Chéad Chathlán, Briogáid Átha Cliath. Bhí a mhac, William Derrington, sa Chomplacht céanna. Bhí sé ina armadóir don Bhriogáid roimh an Éirí Amach. Shlóg sé maidin Luan Cásca, 24 Aibreán 1916, agus chuaigh sé go dtí Halla na Saoirse. Mháirseáil sé, faoi cheannas Sheáin Heuston, go dtí Institiúid an Déirceachais, Oileán Uiséir, chun seilbh a ghabháil uirthi. Ba é ról an Gharastúin ná moill a chur ar shaighdiúirí na Breataine a bheadh ag dul i dtreo Na Ceithre Chúirteanna agus i dtreo Ard-Oifig an Phoist. Bhí Seán ar dualgas i halla Institiúid an Déirceachais in éineacht le Richard Kelly ón gComplacht Lusca. Scríobh Heuston fúthu ina Uainchláir d’Fhairtheoirí: “caithfidh na fir thuas codladh i Seomra an Rúnaí i lán-trealaimh”. Nuair a ghéill an Garastún, Dé Céadaoin 26 Aibreán, cuireadh cúirt airm ar Seán Derrington i nDún Richmond. Daoradh chun báis é, ach laghdaíodh an bhreith go 3 bhliain pianseirbhís. Ar 11 Bealtaine 1916 seoladh é faoi choimhdeacht mhíleata go dtí Príosún Portland, Sasana, agus, níos déanaí, go dtí Príosún Lewes, Sasana. Scaoileadh saor é i Meitheamh 1917 agus d’athghabháil sé lena Chomplacht. Rinneadh armadóir agus teagascóir de d’Fhoireann na Briogáide. Aistríodh é go dtí An Rannóg Muinisean sa Cheanncheathrú níos déanaí chun bioráin do ghránáidí láimhe a dhéanamh agus bhí sé ag obair ansin go dtí deireadh Chogadh na Saoirse. Cailleadh Seán Derrington 15 Samhain 1962.
